UAE Issues Strong Condemnation

UAE condemns Houthi missile attacks Saudi Arabia

The United Arab Emirates has condemned a series of missile attacks launched by Yemen’s Houthi militia against targets inside Saudi Arabia, reaffirming its solidarity with Riyadh amid ongoing threats to regional security. The statement, carried by the official Emirates News Agency, described the attacks as a violation of international law and a direct threat to the safety of civilians and critical infrastructure in the Kingdom.

In its remarks, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the country’s rejection of any acts that target the security and stability of Gulf states, calling on the international community to take a firm stance against such attacks. The ministry emphasized that targeting sovereign nations with ballistic missiles or drones undermines efforts toward regional peace and contradicts ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at de-escalating tensions in Yemen and the wider Gulf region.

The condemnation echoes a consistent pattern in Emirati foreign policy, under which Abu Dhabi has repeatedly denounced Houthi aggression against Saudi Arabia and, in the past, against UAE territory itself. Officials in Abu Dhabi have long argued that attacks of this nature not only endanger civilian lives but also threaten vital energy infrastructure and shipping lanes that are central to the economic wellbeing of the entire Gulf Cooperation Council.

Regional Security and the Wider Gulf Picture

The latest incident underscores the fragile security environment in the Arabian Peninsula, where Saudi Arabia has for years faced sporadic missile and drone attacks attributed to the Iran-aligned Houthi movement. While Riyadh has not issued detailed public figures on casualties or damage from the most recent strikes, such attacks have historically been intercepted by Saudi air defense systems, with Riyadh and its allies accusing Tehran of supplying the weapons and technical support that enable the Houthis to carry out long-range strikes.

For the UAE, the issue carries particular weight given its own history as a target of Houthi attacks in previous years, which prompted Abu Dhabi to bolster its air defense capabilities and deepen security coordination with Saudi Arabia and other GCC partners. Analysts note that continued instability in Yemen remains a key concern for Gulf capitals, as it threatens not only bilateral ties between Riyadh and Abu Dhabi but also broader investor confidence in the region’s economic and energy sectors.

The UAE’s latest statement forms part of a broader diplomatic pattern covered extensively in the UAE section, where the country has consistently positioned itself as a vocal advocate for Gulf security and a supporter of Saudi-led efforts to stabilize Yemen. The original report on the UAE’s condemnation, titled “UAE condemns Houthi missile attacks targeting Saudi Arabia,” was first published by the Emirates News Agency, which serves as the UAE’s official state news outlet.

No immediate details have been released regarding casualties, material damage, or the precise locations struck in the latest round of attacks. Saudi authorities have not issued a separate public statement at the time of writing, though Gulf officials are expected to continue coordinating closely on security matters as tensions linked to the Yemen conflict persist.
