Branded Entertainment Drives Regional Reach

branded entertainment regional reach Gulf

LG Electronics has closed out a four-part branded entertainment series titled “Life’s Good Wayyak” with more than 92 million impressions across MBC1 television, the MBC Shahid streaming platform and social media in Saudi Arabia, according to figures released by the company’s regional media partner. The campaign, produced in collaboration with MBC Media Solutions, marks one of the larger branded content pushes by an electronics manufacturer in the Gulf this year, reflecting how global consumer brands are increasingly turning to narrative-driven formats rather than conventional advertising spots to reach audiences across the kingdom.

The series was distributed simultaneously across linear broadcast, over-the-top streaming and social platforms, a strategy that mirrors the fragmented but increasingly interconnected way Gulf audiences now consume media. By pairing MBC1’s traditional television footprint with MBC Shahid’s growing subscriber base and the viral potential of social channels, LG and its partners were able to build a single storyline across multiple touchpoints rather than relying on isolated ad placements. The four-episode structure allowed the brand to develop characters and narrative arcs over time, a format increasingly favoured by marketers seeking deeper viewer engagement than short-form commercials typically deliver.

Why the Gulf Market Matters

Saudi Arabia remains one of the most closely watched consumer electronics markets in the Middle East, both for its population size and for its role as a production and distribution hub for pan-Arab media content. For manufacturers such as LG, sustained visibility in the kingdom carries weight well beyond its borders, since content produced for Saudi audiences frequently circulates across the wider GCC, including the UAE, where consumers share similar viewing habits through platforms like MBC Shahid and overlapping social media ecosystems. That regional spillover effect makes campaigns of this scale relevant to advertisers and retailers operating across the Emirates as much as those focused solely on the Saudi market.

The campaign’s performance also speaks to broader shifts within the region’s economy, where media, retail and technology sectors are increasingly intertwined. As streaming subscriptions grow alongside continued strong television viewership, brands are recalibrating how they allocate marketing budgets, blending traditional broadcast reach with digital measurement tools to justify spend. The 92-million-impression figure, while not accompanied by detailed demographic or conversion data, signals the scale marketers can now achieve when combining a major terrestrial broadcaster with its digital streaming arm and social distribution in a single coordinated push.

Details of the campaign’s execution and impact were first reported by LG’s ‘life’s Good Wayyak’ Delivers Over 92 Million Impressions Across Mbc1, Mbc Shahid and Social, which outlined the scope of the multi-platform rollout in Saudi Arabia. Neither LG nor MBC Media Solutions disclosed specific figures on audience demographics or how impressions translated into product sales, leaving the campaign’s ultimate commercial return an open question even as its reach across the kingdom’s media landscape appears substantial.
