US Construction Tech Startup Cascade Raises $3.5M Seed

DUBAI — A US-based startup that helps construction firms identify and bid for new projects has raised $3.5 million in seed funding, a deal that underscores growing investor appetite for software targeting the built environment, a sector central to the UAE’s infrastructure ambitions.

Cascade, which uses automation and data analysis to help contractors and subcontractors find relevant tenders and prepare competitive bids, closed the round with participation from a16z Speedrun, Ada Ventures and Snowball VC. The platform aims to reduce the time construction firms spend manually tracking project listings, a process that remains largely fragmented and paper-heavy across many markets, including the Gulf.

Relevance to UAE Construction and Proptech

The UAE’s construction sector is entering a period of sustained activity, driven by Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan, Abu Dhabi’s infrastructure pipeline, and continued private-sector real estate development. Contractors operating across these markets routinely compete for tenders issued by government entities, developers and main contractors, often relying on manual processes to track opportunities. Tools like Cascade point to a broader shift toward digitizing pre-construction workflows, an area that has attracted less venture funding than site management or building information modeling (BIM) software, despite its direct impact on win rates and revenue for contractors.

What It Means for Regional Investors and Founders

For UAE-based venture investors, Cascade’s raise is a signal that construction technology focused on the commercial side of the business, rather than just on-site operations, is gaining traction with global funds. Dubai and Abu Dhabi-based proptech and constructiontech startups may find this an instructive benchmark when approaching seed-stage fundraising, particularly given the involvement of a16z’s early-stage vehicle. Local accelerators and government-backed investment platforms, including those under Dubai’s DIFC and Abu Dhabi’s Hub71, have increasingly prioritized enterprise software with clear efficiency gains for traditional industries such as construction and logistics.

As Gulf governments continue to push large-scale infrastructure and urban development projects, tools that streamline how contractors identify and secure work are likely to draw closer attention from regional investors seeking exposure to construction technology outside of hardware and materials plays.
