New platform targets creators of all sizes

FirstLook, a company specialising in player relationship and marketing tools for the gaming industry, has launched Creators.gg, a platform designed to connect game studios directly with content creators regardless of how large or small their audience is. The launch marks a departure from conventional creator-economy models, which have typically prioritised partnerships with high-follower influencers while leaving smaller and mid-tier creators struggling to secure deals with developers and publishers.

Creators.gg is positioned as a discovery and matchmaking tool that allows studios to identify creators whose content aligns with their games, rather than defaulting to a narrow pool of mega-influencers with the largest followings. According to FirstLook, the platform is intended to give emerging talent a more direct route into brand and studio partnerships, an opportunity that has historically been concentrated among a small number of established names in gaming content creation.

Among the platform’s launch partners are IO Interactive, the studio behind the Hitman franchise, and Brain Jar Games, both of which are supporting the initiative from its early stages. Their involvement is being seen as an early signal of interest from established players in the games industry in exploring more flexible, scalable approaches to creator marketing that go beyond traditional influencer campaigns.

Addressing a gap in creator marketing

The launch responds to a long-standing imbalance in how game studios approach influencer and creator marketing. Large studios have generally concentrated marketing budgets and partnership opportunities on a limited set of high-visibility streamers and content creators, on the assumption that reach alone drives engagement and sales. That approach has often sidelined smaller creators who may have more engaged or niche audiences but lack the follower counts typically required to attract sponsorship interest.

By opening access to creators of varying audience sizes, Creators.gg aims to help studios build broader, more diverse marketing networks while giving smaller creators a viable path to monetisation and industry recognition. For game developers, the platform could offer a way to test partnerships at lower cost and with more targeted audience segments before committing to larger-scale influencer campaigns.

While FirstLook has not detailed specific regional rollout plans, the launch arrives at a time when creator economies and influencer marketing are expanding rapidly across the GCC’s gaming and esports sectors. The UAE and wider Gulf region have seen growing investment in gaming content creation, streaming, and esports events in recent years, with government-backed initiatives in Saudi Arabia and the UAE positioning gaming as a strategic economic sector. Platforms that broaden access to creator partnerships, rather than concentrating them among a handful of top-tier influencers, could be particularly relevant in a region where the creator base is still maturing and diversifying.

As studios in the Gulf and internationally continue to look for more efficient ways to reach niche gaming communities, tools like Creators.gg may influence how marketing budgets are allocated between established influencers and a wider pool of emerging content creators. FirstLook has not disclosed further details on additional partners or expansion plans beyond the initial launch with IO Interactive and Brain Jar Games.
