AVELIN AI Closes $3.7M Pre-Seed Round in UAE

GCC AI Startups Secure $12M as MENA Funding Cools

Dubai: AVELIN AI, a sovereign artificial intelligence platform with operations in the UAE, has closed a $3.7 million pre-seed funding round from a group of undisclosed angel investors, positioning the company to expand its footprint across the Middle East, Europe and North America. The raise underscores continued investor appetite in the Emirates for AI infrastructure plays that address data sovereignty, a priority area for Gulf governments and regulated enterprises.

What AVELIN AI Offers

Founded by Yury Akinin, AVELIN AI builds a sovereign AI platform that allows enterprises and government entities to deploy artificial intelligence tools while retaining full ownership of their data, infrastructure and compliance controls. The company’s proprietary Cross-Model Fusion technology is designed to let organizations combine multiple AI models without routing sensitive data through third-party cloud providers, an approach that aligns closely with data-residency rules increasingly enforced across the UAE and wider GCC. Proceeds from the round will fund geographic expansion, scale GPU infrastructure, and accelerate development of the Cross-Model Fusion product.

Relevance for UAE Investors and Enterprises

The UAE has positioned itself as a regional hub for sovereign and compliant AI deployment, with federal and emirate-level entities pushing data localization requirements for sectors including banking, healthcare and government services. AVELIN AI’s pre-seed round, while modest in size, signals early-stage investor confidence in startups addressing this niche rather than relying solely on foreign hyperscaler infrastructure. For UAE-based founders, the deal illustrates continued access to angel capital for AI infrastructure companies at the earliest funding stage, even amid a broader market that has favored larger, later-stage AI rounds. For enterprises and government buyers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi evaluating AI vendors, sovereign platforms such as AVELIN AI offer an alternative to global providers whose data-handling practices may not satisfy local compliance mandates. Investors tracking the UAE’s AI ecosystem will likely watch whether AVELIN AI secures follow-on funding as it scales GPU capacity and pursues customers across the region, a trajectory that could test demand for sovereign AI infrastructure beyond pilot deployments.
