Anduril Industries Seeks $100B Funding, Eyes Gulf Capital

DUBAI — Defense technology company Anduril Industries is in talks to raise fresh funding at a valuation of approximately $100 billion, more than tripling its mark from a year ago, according to a Reuters report, a development being closely watched by Gulf sovereign wealth funds and state-linked investors with growing exposure to the defense and dual-use technology sector.

Gulf Capital Ties to Anduril’s Rise

The California-based company, founded by Palmer Luckey, has previously drawn interest from Gulf institutional capital as part of a broader push by regional sovereign wealth funds into US defense technology and autonomous systems. Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala and other regional allocators have expanded venture and growth-equity exposure to American defense-tech names in recent years, positioning themselves alongside firms such as Founders Fund and Sands Capital, both existing Anduril backers. A funding round at $100 billion would rank Anduril among the most valuable privately held defense companies globally, reinforcing the appeal of the sector for Gulf funds seeking returns outside traditional oil-and-gas and real estate allocations.

What It Means for UAE Defense and Tech Strategy

The UAE has been actively building its own defense-technology ecosystem, anchored by EDGE Group and a growing cluster of autonomous systems, drone and AI-defense startups in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Anduril’s valuation surge underscores investor appetite for companies combining software, autonomy and hardware manufacturing at scale — a model UAE state entities have sought to replicate domestically. Local founders building in adjacent categories, including unmanned systems, surveillance AI and border security tech, may find the Anduril benchmark useful in future fundraising conversations with regional venture and growth investors, who have increasingly cited US defense-tech comparables when pricing deals.

For UAE-based limited partners with exposure to US venture funds carrying Anduril positions, the marked-up valuation is likely to translate into paper gains ahead of any eventual public listing. Anduril has not confirmed an IPO timeline, but its rapid valuation growth — from roughly $14 billion in 2022 to a reported $100 billion target now — mirrors the trajectory Gulf investors have sought to capture through earlier-stage bets on category-defining defense and AI companies. The talks, still described as preliminary, have not been confirmed by Anduril.
