Anduril $100B Valuation: Gulf Capital Eyes US Defense Tech

DUBAI — Gulf sovereign wealth funds and family offices with exposure to US defense technology are watching closely as Anduril Industries moves to raise fresh capital at a valuation of roughly $100 billion, more than triple the figure it commanded a year ago, according to a Reuters report. The talks underscore how rapidly capital is flowing into defense-technology startups at a time when several UAE-backed funds have been building positions in the sector.

Why the Round Matters for Gulf Capital

Anduril, the Palo Alto-based maker of autonomous drones, surveillance towers and AI-enabled defense systems, has drawn interest from a widening pool of institutional investors as governments worldwide increase defense budgets. Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala and other regional funds have previously participated in US defense and dual-use technology rounds, part of a broader strategy to diversify sovereign portfolios beyond oil and traditional equities into high-growth, strategically important sectors. A valuation near $100 billion would place Anduril among the most highly valued private companies globally, alongside SpaceX and OpenAI, and would likely attract renewed attention from Gulf allocators seeking exposure to US defense innovation, even as such deals face scrutiny under US foreign investment rules governing sensitive technology.

Implications for UAE Founders and Investors

For UAE-based venture investors and founders, the Anduril round reinforces a trend already visible in the region: capital is concentrating in defense, autonomy and AI infrastructure companies capable of scaling globally. The UAE has positioned itself as a hub for AI and advanced manufacturing through initiatives tied to Abu Dhabi’s G42 and Dubai’s growing deep-tech ecosystem, and local investors increasingly benchmark valuations against US frontier-tech peers. A tripling of Anduril’s valuation in a single year may also raise the bar for regional defense-tech and dual-use startups seeking funding, as investors compare growth trajectories and capital efficiency against Silicon Valley counterparts.

Terms of the new Anduril round, including lead investors and timing, have not been finalized, and the company has not commented publicly on the figures. Should the deal close near the reported valuation, it would mark one of the largest private funding rounds this year and add further momentum to Gulf interest in US-based defense and autonomous systems companies, an area regional funds have signaled they intend to expand.
