Keyper Closes $11M Series A: UAE Proptech Funding Round

DUBAI — UAE-based proptech Keyper has closed an $11 million Series A round led by European venture firm Speedinvest, deepening investor conviction that the country’s rental market is ripe for digitisation. The round drew participation from NeoVentures, the venture arm of Mashreq, alongside MEVP, Dubai Future District Fund, Property Finder, Arab National Bank, Ellington Properties, Dar Ventures and Abbey Road Investment Group.

Founded in 2022 by Omar Abu Innab and Walid Al Saqqaf, Keyper operates a digital residential real estate platform designed to resolve a structural mismatch in the region’s leasing norms. Most UAE landlords still expect rent in one to four post-dated cheques annually, while tenants increasingly prefer monthly payments to manage cash flow. Keyper’s model allows tenants to pay monthly while landlords are paid the full annual sum upfront, with the company absorbing the financing gap and layering on property management and embedded financial services.

Why the round matters for UAE real estate

The Series A signals growing institutional appetite for fintech-enabled proptech in a market where residential rents in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have risen sharply over the past three years, sharpening tenant demand for flexible payment terms. Backing from Mashreq’s venture arm and Arab National Bank points to banks viewing embedded rental financing as a viable adjacent product, rather than a threat to traditional mortgage and cheque-based lending. Property Finder’s involvement also links Keyper more closely to the UAE’s dominant real estate listings channel, a distribution advantage few local proptech rivals can match.

What it signals for founders and investors

For GCC founders, the raise reinforces that vertical fintech wrapped around real estate remains one of the region’s most fundable categories, particularly when paired with corporate venture capital from banks and developers such as Ellington Properties. For investors, Keyper’s cap table illustrates a broader pattern: regional funds increasingly co-invest alongside international lead investors like Speedinvest to access UAE proptech deal flow. Keyper has said the fresh capital will fund expansion of its rental financing and property management offering across the UAE, with further growth into other GCC markets expected to follow.
