New Venture Targets the Screen-to-Game Pipeline

Griffin Gaming Partners, a venture capital firm focused on the video game industry, has teamed up with talent management and production company Entertainment 360 to launch a new joint venture dedicated to turning video game intellectual property into film and television projects. The company is designed to act as a bridge between game publishers holding valuable IP and the studios and streaming platforms eager to license it, addressing a gap that has long slowed the pace at which games make it to screens.

The partnership combines two distinct sets of expertise. Entertainment 360 contributes its track record in talent representation and content production, while Griffin Gaming Partners brings deep relationships across the game publishing world, along with insight into which titles carry franchise potential beyond the console or PC. Together, the companies say the goal is to streamline a process that has historically been fragmented, with publishers often lacking the Hollywood connections needed to shepherd a property through development, and studios lacking the gaming-industry fluency to identify which titles are worth adapting.

The timing reflects a broader shift in how entertainment executives view gaming IP. Projects such as “The Last of Us” and “Arcane” have shown that game-based stories can draw large audiences and critical acclaim when handled with sufficient creative investment, reversing a long history of video game adaptations struggling to find commercial or critical success on screen. That shift has encouraged studios and streamers to look more seriously at back catalogues of game publishers for source material, creating demand for intermediaries who understand both industries.

Implications for the Wider Gaming Industry

Details on the new company’s funding structure, leadership team and initial slate of projects have not been disclosed, and it remains unclear which publishers or titles might be the first to move through the pipeline. The announcement, first reported by Griffin Gaming Partners and Entertainment 360 launch new company to support video game adaptations for film and TV, frames the venture as a response to growing industry appetite for cross-media expansion rather than a single-project deal.

While the initiative is positioned as a US-centric effort with no stated Middle East operations, its ripple effects could still reach the Gulf. Streaming platforms operating across the UAE and wider GCC region have been steadily expanding their catalogues of game-adapted series and films, and a more efficient pipeline for bringing new titles to screen could translate into faster availability of such content for regional audiences. The UAE in particular has positioned itself as a growing hub for interactive entertainment and esports investment, meaning developments in how game IP is monetised globally are closely watched by regional publishers, investors and distributors looking to understand where the broader gaming industry is heading.

For now, the company’s immediate priority appears to be establishing itself as a trusted conduit between two industries that have often struggled to communicate effectively. Game publishers have frequently cited difficulty navigating entertainment deal-making, while studios have at times misjudged what makes a game’s narrative or characters translatable to film or television. By positioning itself at that intersection, the new venture is betting that demand for proven gaming IP will continue to grow as streaming competition intensifies and audiences show sustained interest in stories that originated on consoles and PCs.

No release timeline or list of in-development projects has been announced, and further details on financial backing and leadership appointments are expected to emerge as the company begins signing its first deals.
