PowerGen Renewable Energy has secured a strategic investment from All On, a Nigerian impact investor dedicated to widening access to commercial energy across the country, in a transaction advised by financial advisory firm Delphos. The deal, which has now closed, is aimed at helping PowerGen scale up its renewable energy operations in a market where millions of businesses and households still lack reliable access to power. Financial terms of the investment, including its size and structure, were not disclosed.

PowerGen has built its business around commercial, market-driven power solutions rather than subsidy-reliant models, positioning itself as a provider of renewable electricity to businesses, industrial users and communities that are underserved by Nigeria’s national grid. All On, which operates with a specific mandate to expand energy access in Nigeria, has backed the company as part of its broader strategy of channeling capital into ventures that combine commercial viability with measurable development impact. The investment reflects a growing trend among impact-focused funds to treat energy access not purely as a philanthropic cause but as a scalable business opportunity capable of generating returns while addressing infrastructure gaps.

Advisory Role and Wider Investment Trends

Delphos acted as strategic advisor to PowerGen throughout the transaction, working on structuring and executing the deal with All On. The firm specializes in advising companies operating in emerging and frontier markets, particularly in sectors tied to sustainable infrastructure and clean energy, where deal structuring often needs to balance commercial return expectations with development finance priorities. Details of the transaction were first reported by Delphos Advises PowerGen on Strategic Investment from All On to Expand Energy Access Across Nigeria, which outlined the roles played by both the advisor and the investor in bringing the deal to close.

While the transaction has no direct involvement from UAE or wider Gulf investors, it carries indirect relevance for the region’s financial community. Gulf-based sovereign wealth funds, development finance institutions and private investors have shown increasing appetite for renewable energy and infrastructure opportunities across Africa, viewing the continent’s energy access gap as both a development priority and a long-term commercial opportunity. Deals such as the PowerGen-All On transaction offer a template for how impact capital can be paired with commercially oriented energy companies to achieve scale, a model that regional investors evaluating African market entry points are likely to study closely.

The transaction also fits into a broader pattern within global economy trends, where capital is increasingly flowing toward companies that can demonstrate both financial sustainability and measurable social impact, particularly in energy-poor regions. For Nigeria, which continues to grapple with unreliable grid infrastructure and a large population lacking consistent electricity access, investments of this kind are seen as critical to closing the gap between national power generation capacity and actual demand from businesses and households.

Neither PowerGen nor All On disclosed further specifics on how the newly closed investment will be deployed, though the strategic nature of the funding suggests it is intended to support continued expansion of PowerGen’s renewable energy footprint within Nigeria’s commercial and industrial power segment.
